The CYD Foundation is committed to the development of an entrepreneurial attitude in the university and of Spanish society from the university. In accordance with this goal, the CYD Foundation aspires to consolidate itself as a reflection group, the purpose of which is to make a contribution to and boost the transformation of university culture, turning it into a culture that rewards entrepreneurship and the capability for risk of all of those who participate in it, both students and lecturers. In order to achieve this end, the CYD foundation intends to promote a suitable environment: *By developing an ENTREPRENEURIAL CULTURE in the universities. * By making businessmen aware of the importance of contribution of the universities to INNOVATION STRATEGY. * By stimulating the role of the university as the driving force of REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT. In order to achieve the above-mentioned goals, the CYD Foundation bases its work on three main axes of conduct: * ANALYSIS: annual CYD-report and research activities * REFLECTION AND DEBATE: symposiums and conference cycles * OPINION POLLS: surveys.
PLATO is a centre for educational research and development both in regular education and in corporate training. It belongs to the Leiden University in the Netherlands. During a series of years the centre has gained experience and expertise in various fields of education and training. Research and development of training and learning programmes, training materials and other educational arrangements, like simulations and new media, are included in the portfolio of projects of the centre.
The Rovira i Virgili University (URV) is the public university of southern Catalonia (Spain). The URV has 12 centres where 1,500 teachers and researchers provide quality teaching to 11,000 undergraduates and to 1,100 postgraduate and doctoral students who attend more than 100 courses in all areas of knowledge. More than 1,000 senior and junior researchers are involved in research activities at the URV. Funding from competitive R+D+I projects and collaboration with 250 universities in 40 countries ensure a high quality of scientific production in such knowledge areas as agricultural sciences and oenology, social sciences, clinical medicine, life sciences, physics an chemistry, engineering and computing and arts an humanities. The Department of Communication and Economics of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia has been established in 2001 and is constituted of over 60 personnel units (full professors, associate professors and researchers) belonging to more than thirty different Disciplines. It is located right in the historical city center of Reggio Emilia, in an 1853's neoclassical building, which has been recently (2005) restructured and equipped with modern multimedia classrooms and laboratories. The Department coordinates the research activities of two Faculties, namely the 'Economics and Communication Sciences' Faculty and the 'Educational Sciences' Faculty. Another 35 people are currently working as PhD students and temporary research contracts. Besides the ordinary lessons the Department, through the MediaCenter, provides different distant learning (e-learning) degree courses. A Research Centre on the Information and Communication Society is also part of the Department from year 2002. In the past, the Department has been involved in the ISCOM (Information Society as a Complex System), CETRA (Complexity Education for Trainers), NESOR (New Social Risks in the European Knowledge Society and Higher Education) and U-STIR (User Driven Stimulation of Radical New Technological Steps in Surface Transport) EU research projects. At present, the Department is actively involved in the BEMOSA (Behavioural Modelling for Security in Airport) and in THE-MP (Tertiarty Education for Mid Life people) EU research project. The Department has good links to the large network of Companies, SMEs and Public Bodies operating in Emilia Romagna with which it is cooperating through a number of joint applied research projects and consultancies.

Our other activities include processing of research studies and analyses in the field of human resource management, process management, project management, financial management, regional development, equal opportunities, xenophobia, and racism. We train in the areas of evaluation methods, project management and diversity management. We help integrate modern means of communication known as Web 2.0 (Facebook, LinkedIn, Moodle, Mahara, etc.) in the processes of creating networks and partnerships and as a development tool of organizations and of further vocational training. The Institute of Sociology Budapest (ISB) is affiliated to the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, which is the highest and most prestigious scientific institution in Hungary functioning as a non-profit public organisation. Within the Institute a Sociological Research Group for Organisation and Work is operating headed by Professor Csaba Makó. Its main research topics are: new forms of work organisation, social dialogue and labour relations, working conditions and knowledge society. The Research Group has long-standing experiences in international comparative research and participated in several EU-funded projects.
The University of Glasgow (UGla), United Kingdom (http://www.gla.ac.uk/) is a leading international research-driven university, involved in numerous lifelong learning research and development projects, and with strong commitments to local and regional engagement and development. Through its research cluster in Social Justice, Place and Lifelong Education and its programme of Community Engagement courses within the School of Education of the College of Social Sciences, it seeks both to improve the quality life in the Glasgow area and beyond, by undertaking leading-edge, internationally-competitive lifelong education research and development, while offering a challenging student-centred learning environment. As the lifelong education arm of a leading international university, it brings global knowledge and practice to local and national, school, adult, higher and vocational education, aiming also to sustain and add value to Scottish culture and society, to the natural environment and to the national economy. It hosts a dedicated Centre for Research and Development in Adult and Lifelong Learning (CRAD&LL) (http://www.gla.ac.uk/departments/cradall/) which will be lead site within UGla for this project and the PASCAL Observatory (http://pascalobservatory.org), an international research and policy development alliance which aims to develop, communicate and explain new and emerging ideas in the areas of place management, social capital and learning regions. PASCAL emerged from the OECD¹s work on Learning Cities and maintains a strong link with OECD.
The Institut Arbeit und Technik (IAT) is a research organisation of the University of Applied Sciences (FH) Gelsenkirchen and a co-operation partner of the Ruhr-University-Bochum. It was founded in October 1988 with the mission to monitor worldwide best practice solutions for managing structural change, to develop appropriate solutions for governments, enterprises, educational institutions and semi-public institutions and to test these solutions in prototype projects. The main subjects of the institute's research, development, testing and diffusion activities are knowledge and innovation. With its three research departments (RD Health Industries & Quality of Life, RD Innovation, Space & Culture and RD Knowledge & Competence) the IAT carries out in national and international co-operations: basic research, analyses of current development trends, concepts to increase prosperity and quality of life, research on innovative learning methods particularly by using new ICT and analysis of trends in Education and Training with a focus of labour market needs.
